PT Bank KB Indonesia Tbk recorded loan disbursement of Rp45.68 trillion as of September 2026. According to Kompas.com, the figure grew 3.07 percent from the same period a year earlier, with the wholesale banking segment serving as one of the main drivers. The company emphasized that the expansion remained selective amid profitability challenges and intense competition for liquidity in the banking industry.
Wholesale and corporate segments support growth
Growth in KB Bank's loan disbursement was supported by the wholesale banking segment, which increased 11 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, Kontan reported that the bank's corporate loans grew 8.8 percent year-to-date as of September 2026. The figures differ because they use different comparison bases and segment scopes.
KB Bank Wholesale Director Widodo Suryadi said the company was optimizing financing for several productive sectors. Its focus includes infrastructure, supply chain activities, and financing that supports export activities.
KB Bank also sees financing opportunities in digital infrastructure, automotive, logistics, healthcare, retail, agriculture, and plantations. According to Widodo, business development in these sectors is being pursued selectively by considering industry prospects, business fundamentals, and the quality and sustainability of each transaction.
Portfolio quality remains a priority
KB Bank President Director Kunardy Darma Lie said business growth must go hand in hand with stronger company fundamentals. In a written statement dated October 31, 2026, he said the company would focus on credit portfolio quality, funding management, and risk discipline to create long-term value for stakeholders.
Alongside the expansion, KB Bank continued to improve its portfolio through ongoing credit management, the resolution of non-performing loans, and the application of prudent principles to new lending. Its loan-at-risk ratio stood at 21.62 percent in September 2026, lower than in the same period a year earlier.
For corporate loans, Widodo said the non-performing loan ratio remained below the regulatory limit as of September 2026. According to him, this was supported by a selective growth strategy and continuous risk monitoring, including assessments of business prospects, debtors' performance and repayment capacity, transaction quality, and debtors' operational activities.
Net interest income increases
In terms of revenue, KB Bank posted net interest income of Rp926 billion as of September 2026. The figure increased 28.94 percent year-on-year, while the net interest margin improved to 1.71 percent.
The company's total assets reached Rp82.91 trillion at the end of September 2026. KB Bank said it continued to optimize the management of earning assets and liabilities to maintain a balance between business growth, funding structure, and portfolio quality.
Funding and profitability challenges
KB Bank's third-party funds stood at Rp44.58 trillion, including Rp13.01 trillion in low-cost funds, or current and savings accounts. To strengthen funding, the company is developing relationships with corporate and retail customers, increasing transaction activity, and optimizing its funding mix to support its intermediation role.
The company said it continued to face profitability challenges amid macroeconomic dynamics, exchange-rate volatility, and intense competition for liquidity. Nevertheless, Kunardy expressed optimism that various strategic initiatives would support sustained performance improvements and strengthen business fundamentals through the end of 2026.
