Early information about the OnePlus Turbo Pro has begun circulating even though the device has not been officially announced. According to a GSMArena.com report citing leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the phone is expected to arrive around the end of the year with several specifications similar to those of the OnePlus 16. Its final name and marketing plans outside China remain unclear.
Leaked key specifications
The OnePlus Turbo Pro is said to feature a 6.78-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution and a 185Hz refresh rate. If accurate, the display would be one of the features demonstrating its close similarity to the recently introduced OnePlus 16.
For photography, the device is reportedly equipped with a 200 MP main camera featuring a large sensor. However, the report does not provide details about the other cameras, such as the number of rear cameras, lens configuration, video recording capabilities, or front camera specifications.
Its battery capacity is reportedly at least 9,000 mAh. Engineering samples in the series are even said to feature batteries of up to 10,000 mAh. Because this information still comes from a leak and the device has not yet been introduced, the capacity of the final product cannot be confirmed.
Chipset as the key difference
Although several of its specifications are said to match those of the OnePlus 16, the two devices will reportedly use different chipsets. The OnePlus 16 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, while the Turbo Pro is said to rely on the Qualcomm SM8845 Pro chip, manufactured using a 3-nanometer process.
The Qualcomm SM8845 Pro has not yet been announced. Based on another leak also cited in the GSMArena.com report, the chip is rumored to be used in the iQOO Z12 Turbo as well. Its commercial name is expected to be Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro, but there is no certainty about the branding.
The different chipset could be the main factor distinguishing the Turbo Pro's positioning from that of the OnePlus 16. However, no information is yet available about the performance, power efficiency, core configuration, or graphics capabilities of the unannounced chip.
External cooling fan accessory
In addition to its internal specifications, the OnePlus Turbo Pro is reportedly set to have an external cooling fan accessory. The accessory may be attached through a case, although its design, attachment mechanism, price, and availability have not been explained.
The fan remains part of an early report, so it is not yet known whether it will be included in the retail package or sold separately. Information about which markets will receive the accessory is also unavailable.
Name and marketing remain uncertain
The device's official name remains uncertain. The phone could be introduced as the Turbo Pro or Turbo 7 Pro. The Digital Chat Station post that originated the leak was also reportedly edited so that it now displays only a good morning greeting, without the device details previously included.
The history of the series suggests that the device could have a version for other markets. OnePlus launched the Turbo 6 in China in January, and the device later served as the basis for the Nord 6, which launched in April. However, there is no certainty that a similar approach will be used for the Turbo Pro.
Therefore, information about the launch schedule, product name, final configuration, price, and international availability still awaits an official announcement. For now, the details concerning the display, camera, battery, chipset, and cooling accessory should be treated as leaks rather than final specifications.
