iQOO has officially introduced the Pad Pro 8.8 in China alongside the iQOO Neo12. According to GSMArena.com, the compact gaming-focused tablet retains many of the Pad Ultra's characteristics, including a high-refresh-rate display, a large battery, and a cooling system with an active fan. The main differences are in the chipset, memory options, and storage capacity.

165Hz AMOLED Display

The iQOO Pad Pro 8.8 uses an 8.8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,304 x 1,440 pixels. The panel supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz in compatible games, full-screen brightness of 1,600 nits, and peak local brightness of 4,500 nits.

The device has a metal unibody design measuring 5.74 mm thick and weighing 298 grams. For multimedia, iQOO has included two symmetrical speakers, two X-axis linear vibration motors, and an RGB light on the back. The tablet also supports Wi-Fi 7 and features a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port.

Snapdragon and Q3 Gaming Chip

The iQOO Pad Pro 8.8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with iQOO's Q3 gaming chip. The additional chip handles ray tracing, resolution enhancement, and frame interpolation in supported games.

The highest configuration includes 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The tablet runs OriginOS 7 HD based on Android 17. It also offers several software features, including a PC game emulator, live game streaming, and 4K in-game screenshots. However, some features are available only on versions with at least 12GB of RAM.

Active Cooling and Large Battery

To control temperatures, iQOO uses its Ice Dome system. The setup combines a 30 x 30 x 3.5 mm fan, two vapor chambers, and copper fins, providing a total heat dissipation area of 23,253 square millimeters. The fan offers three speed modes.

The battery has a capacity of 9,020mAh and supports 66W wired charging. For photography, the tablet has a 13MP rear camera capable of recording 4K video and an 8MP front camera. iQOO also offers optional accessories in the form of a magnetic grip kit and the iQOO Stretch Handle G1 controller, but both are sold separately.

Differences from the Pad Ultra

The Pad Pro has the same display, battery, cameras, thickness, and weight as the Pad Ultra. The Pad Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and the newer Q4 gaming chip, while the Pad Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Q3. The Pro model starts with 8GB of RAM and offers up to 512GB of storage, while the Ultra starts with 12GB of RAM and is available with up to 1TB of storage.

The Pad Pro variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is priced at 4,699 yuan, while the equivalent Pad Ultra configuration is listed at 6,499 yuan. The 8GB/256GB Pad Pro is priced at 4,299 yuan, the 16GB/256GB version at 5,099 yuan, the 12GB/512GB model at 5,399 yuan, and the 16GB/512GB version at 5,799 yuan.

The iQOO Pad Pro is available in blue and gray. GSMArena.com notes that it remains unclear whether the tablet will eventually be released outside China.
