The vivo X500 Ultra may be released globally after its model number was found in an IMEI database in Türkiye. According to GSMArena, the listing also includes a Jovi-branded version believed to be intended for Brazil. Although this points to possible distribution plans, the device’s global launch timing remains unclear.

Two models appear in IMEI database

GSMArena reported that the global version of the vivo X500 Ultra is listed under model number V2660. The device was found in an IMEI database in Türkiye, indicating that the phone may not be limited to the Chinese market.

Another listing shows the Jovi X500 Ultra under model number J2613. Jovi is the brand vivo uses for its phones in Brazil. Based on this connection, GSMArena expects the X500 Ultra to be sold in the country as well. However, no launch date or market availability details have been disclosed.

China launch expected next year

A vivo executive previously stated that the X500 Ultra would be unveiled in China in March or April next year. No exact date was provided, while the schedule for the global version has also not been announced.

The appearance of global and Brazilian models follows a pattern established with the previous generation. The vivo X300 Ultra became the company’s first Ultra-series phone to be released globally. The device was unveiled in China on March 30, began its global rollout in April, and arrived in Brazil as the Jovi X300 Ultra in August.

That history provides a point of comparison for the X500 Ultra’s possible launch strategy. Even so, there is no certainty that the interval between its Chinese and global releases will match that of its predecessor.

Display and chipset leaks

In addition to indications about its distribution, several key vivo X500 Ultra specifications have also surfaced. The device is said to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. It is rumored to feature a flat 6.85-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.

The panel is said to be supplied by BOE and equipped with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. All these details remain leaks because vivo has not officially confirmed the specifications in the report.

Cameras and battery reportedly upgraded

The latest X500 Ultra engineering sample is reportedly testing a 1/1.2-inch sensor for its 200MP periscope telephoto camera. That is larger than the 1/1.4-inch sensor used in its predecessor. The 35mm main camera may also switch to a 50MP sensor with improved stabilization.

Its battery capacity is rumored to range between 7,000mAh and 8,000mAh. If accurate, this would exceed the X300 Ultra’s 6,600mAh battery. However, the final battery capacity, camera configuration, and other specifications remain subject to an official announcement from vivo.
