The Poco X8 has officially launched in Indonesia, joining the Poco X8 Pro and Pro Max, which arrived earlier. According to detikinet, the phone offers a redesigned body, a larger display, a high-capacity battery, and enhanced body protection. On the other hand, Poco has removed several camera features available on the previous generation.
Larger display and new design
The Poco X8 uses a segmented pattern design with a striped motif on the back. According to Xiaomi Indonesia PR Manager Novita Krisutami, the phone also has slim bezels surrounding the display. It is available in Black, White, and Orange.
The phone has a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel, up from 6.67 inches on the previous generation. The panel offers a 1.5K resolution of 2772 x 1280 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and an instantaneous touch sampling rate of up to 3,200Hz that can be activated while gaming.
Peak brightness reaches 3,500 nits. Poco has also equipped the display with Wet Touch Technology 2.0, allowing it to remain usable when the user's fingers are wet. Blue light, flicker-free, and circadian-friendly certifications from TÜV Rheinland are also included, while physical protection is provided by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and a simpler camera setup
The Poco X8 is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, manufactured using a 4-nanometer process. It is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The phone runs HyperOS 3 and is promised up to four generations of operating system updates.
The camera configuration is one area that has been simplified. The 50 MP main camera still features optical image stabilization, but the ultrawide and macro cameras have been removed. Both have been replaced by a 2 MP depth sensor. The front camera, housed in a centered display cutout, has a resolution of 16 MP, down from 20 MP on the standard Poco X7.
Its software features include Circle to Search, Google Gemini, AI Erase, AI Remove Reflection, AI Image Expansion, AI Sky, AI Bokeh, AI Image Enhancement, and AI Beautify. Other supporting features include NFC, an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a volume boost of up to 300 percent.
Large battery and reverse charging
The Poco X8 comes with an 8,340 mAh silicon-carbon battery and 67W HyperCharge fast charging. Poco claims the battery can last up to two days on a single charge and retain at least 80 percent of its capacity after 1,600 charging cycles, which it says is equivalent to six years of use.
At the launch event in Jakarta on Friday, October 30, 2026, Novita said the Poco X8 could be used to play up to 36 consecutive matches of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Its battery can also be used to charge other devices through 22.5W reverse wired charging. These battery-life claims were provided by the company.
For physical durability, the device carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance. Poco says the phone can withstand submersion in water at a depth of up to two meters for 72 hours. Its body has also received SGS certification for surviving drops from a height of three meters onto a granite surface.
Price and sales schedule
The Poco X8 is priced in Indonesia at Rp 5,699,000 for the configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Orders through all Xiaomi online sales channels will open on November 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.
Buyers receive complimentary two-month YouTube Premium and three-month Google One subscriptions, including 100GB of cloud storage. For connectivity, the Poco X8 supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C.
